The last seven weeks of the year are when next year's opportunities take shape. Budgets are set, partnerships are agreed and the people you meet in November often become the clients, colleagues and collaborators of January. This week London offers everything from a free show for small business owners at ExCeL to a summit on workplace culture in the City and a parade that marks the City's own new year. Here are eight events worth your time.

## UKsec Cyber Summit

**When:** Tuesday 10th November. **Where:** London. **Cost:** paid registration.

A one-day conference for security leaders, with a strong focus on the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill and the changes it is expected to bring to compliance for UK organisations.

**Go if:** you are responsible for keeping your organisation safe online and want to prepare before the new rules arrive.

## RISK Expo Europe

**When:** Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th November. **Where:** ExCeL London.

An exhibition and conference for risk, compliance and governance professionals, held alongside several other business shows at ExCeL this week.

**Go if:** you manage risk, audit or compliance and want to compare notes with peers before planning for 2027.

## The Business Show London

**When:** Wednesday 11th November, 10am to 5pm, and Thursday 12th November, 10am to 4pm. **Where:** ExCeL London. **Cost:** free with registration.

One of the UK's largest events for people starting or growing a business, with more than 25,000 visitors expected, around 500 exhibitors and 200 speakers. Expect seminars and masterclasses on marketing, finance, HR and technology, and plenty of networking.

**Go if:** you run a small business, are thinking of starting one, or want to meet founders at every stage.

## Going Global Live

**When:** Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th November. **Where:** ExCeL London.

Held alongside The Business Show, this event is for companies that want to expand overseas, with advice on new markets, trade and setting up abroad.

**Go if:** 2027 is the year you plan to take your business beyond the UK.

## The Great Place To Work For All Summit

**When:** Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th November. **Where:** Convene, 155 Bishopsgate, City of London.

For the first time, the Great Place To Work For All Summit comes to London. Over two days, senior leaders explore how people-first workplace culture drives business performance. Speakers include the organisational psychologist John Amaechi OBE, Sana Khareghani, former head of the UK Government's Office for AI, Michael C. Bush, global chief executive of Great Place To Work, and Alex Edmans, professor of finance at London Business School.

**Go if:** you lead people and believe, as this edition does, that every person in your organisation carries more potential than their job title shows.

## Retrain Expo and Event Tech Live

**When:** Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th November. **Where:** ExCeL London.

Two more shows share the ExCeL halls this week. Retrain Expo is for people considering a career change or a new qualification. Event Tech Live brings together the technology behind conferences, exhibitions and live events.

The institute's annual Iraq Initiative conference runs on Wednesday 11th November from 8.30am to 5.30pm, bringing together policymakers, business leaders and experts. On Thursday 12th November, from 2pm to 3.30pm, a panel discusses what Nigeria's 2027 elections may mean for the country and the wider region.

**Go if:** your business depends on reading international risk, or you work with partners in the Middle East or West Africa.

## The City's Own New Year: The Silent Ceremony and the Lord Mayor's Show

**When:** Friday 13th and Saturday 14th November. **Where:** Guildhall and the City of London.

On Friday 13th November, Alderman Bronek Masojada takes office as the 698th Lord Mayor of the City of London at the Silent Ceremony. On Saturday 14th November, the Lord Mayor's Show sets off from Mansion House at 11am, with livery companies, businesses and charities among around 6,500 participants. This year the river pageant returns to the Thames for the first time since 2017.

**Go if:** you work in the City, or want to see how London's financial district has celebrated its traditions for more than 800 years. It is also [a relaxed, free day out](https://www.richmanmagazine.com/article/london-calling-the-week-starting-9th-november-2026) to bring a client or your team.

## Make Your Week Count

Before you go to any event, choose two people you want to meet and one question you want answered. Afterwards, follow up within 48 hours. A handful of good conversations in November can shape your whole year ahead.
